Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Re: Learning to play guitar like Jorma.

There was a post on how Neil Young either sold out to the man or never did and did it his way. As musical tastes changed I saw this in Jorma sa well .When punk hit he tried it w/ a band called Vital Parts which sucked to high heaven. Not only did the music not fit anything he has done prior by he came out dyed flame orange hair and a giant Swastika around his neck. Now there are some who do know that symbol means a different thing to a totally different group of people. To his Jewish fans it was a slap in the face and his mgmnt was Jewish.w/o Googling it I think the east Indians reveared it as a symbol of strength or something of that sort.Still uncool and still the music was horrible. So others besides MrYoung have changed w/ the times sometimes good and for the most not so good. But still back to his roots at 70 something means longevity, numerous people he played w/ and there is one undeniable fact Jack and Jorma love to play....
